The devil we don't know.
I am not going to list again all the evidence for his unsuitability for the White House - I urge you all to turn off the rotten cable "news" and dig for yourselves.
A strange spirit of insanity has over taken the country. Left is right and up is down. Those with the least qualifications are telling those with the most to step aside. Most of the establishment is acquiescing in what they know is an enterprise bound for failure. And they are doing it with a smile. The society is cannibalizing itself for a demigod with no core. And doing it with glee.
As western Rome swooned into the abyss corrupt and incompetent rulers were followed by corrupt and competent rulers and back again. This is were we are. The possible coming Obama years will be corrupt and to a degree competent. At least relative to Bush 2. (Then against, 5 ferrets on crack would have been more competent than the Bushies).
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that America has gone around the bend in the last few years. We are now, in large part, a subsidiary of China. We sold our soul to oil a long time ago. Everything about this culture is "maxed out." Turning to a messianic leader at this moment in our history is the exact wrong thing to do. The risks are extraordinary. Especially one with a past like Obama's.
But we are handing the keys over none the less. This is a result of pain and fear - not hope.
Obama has made bargains with the devil to rise so quickly. Take that literally or metaphorically - the end result is the same. BHO is a Chicago machine animal, groomed and taught by Marxists, Black separatists, and happy bombers. In spirit they are very much in league with the corporatists who've ruled for the last 8 years. Different roads to the same destination: government by the few, for the few. The "few" will have different faces. The ugly result will be the same.
A few months ago a friend said he thought we were ripe for a revolution. I dismissed this idea at the time. Now I am not so sure. The energy propelling Obama is, more than anything else, desperate and mindless. It is fueled by deep fury. And, surprisingly, hopelessness. Only the hopeless pin their hopes on the unknown.
I hold out no hope that Obama can be stopped. His election will be hard - but (and even though I wrote the lyrics to Unelectable) I think he can beat McCain.
Unseen levers are being pulled for Obama. Whether its stops after he is the nominee and this was all a stunt to defeat Clinton OR he is the Manchurian candidate who will become the Manchurian President - we shall have to wait and see.
